Happy 25th!!!

Well…in case you haven’t heard this year is our 25th Anniversary and we are celebrating it in a big way. On the 25th of each month this year, stop into one of our 12 locations for special promotions, give aways, or events. We will also be hosting special promotions on our website so if you can’t make it to a store, be sure to check in out as well. January and February proved to be fun and exciting and we can’t wait to share what’s in store for the rest of the year. We’d love to have your help to get our name and mission out there, so feel free to “like” us on Facebook and share our mission with your friends – your local store even has their own Facebook page. That way you can keep up to date with all things Go Fish!

One more exciting event we’d like to share is our travel plans for this spring! Most store will be hosting a trunk show in their stores to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. At each trunk show, you’ll be able to get a sneak preview of our Spring and Summer 2012 clothing and jewelry lines, PLUS you will have a chance to meet the designer and stylist for Go Fish Clothing & Jewelry Company. Our first trunk show is scheduled for March 8th in Marietta, GA; so if you are in the Atlanta area be sure to stop by and say hi. We will be visiting stores throughout March, April, and May so be sure to check with your local store for specifics. We hope to see your smiling faces and that you enjoy our 25th Anniversary celebration!

new spring clothing is in the building

Finally, our Spring 2012 collections have arrived! After months of work and worry they made it to US soil and are perfect! We don’t have the usual stresses that clothing designers have while a line is being cut and sewn. Our worries include if the weather will cooperate for our fabric to be made. If it rains too much or too little it affects our colorations! Most of our clothing is made using a process that involves a wax resist dyeing technique called batik. Our batiks incorporate many different colors and a exhausting amount of time to create. But, we couldn’t be happier with our final product – beautiful designs in some gorgeous colors. Here is a quick look at a Geranium inspired collection. We’d love to know what you think.

a new year…new Go Fish!

The current temperature at our home office is 65 degrees. Where in the world is the cold January that allows us to bundle up and wear all of our layers? I know another cold snap is coming up in a few days, I am ready for it to get here. With that said, we are busily preparing for the launch of our Spring line. We took a few cute shots featuring a new top that is coming in along with some of our favorite jewelry.

After seeing this series of pictures, we decided that with the arrival of the Spring clothing in stores Natalie and I would style and mix it our way to our individual style and post pictures to the blog.

A few days ago, Natalie and I (it’s Ashley again) had a few quick test shots taken for a surprise you will find out about in the near future. We had a great time with our photographer, Tamara, and the pictures turned out pretty great.

Now that you have seen shots that we didn’t use, I know you just can’t wait to see the one’s we pick! And better yet, stay tuned for the reason for these photos anyway!

It has been a busy holiday season for us and I am sure you are all feeling the last minute crunch of holiday shopping and preparation. We had to take a few moments to step outside the other day and enjoy our beautiful, WARM weather! Below is a photo of the view outside our Service Center.

We just love it when a vision comes to fruition. After many hours of research and hard work, one of our visions is finally live! Have you seen our new website yet? We have a new home (or domain) at shopgofish.com.

We have packed this website full of information about who Go Fish is AND we have expanded the items that you can purchase on the website. (If you see something you love be sure to post it on your facebook or twitter page using the ‘like’ button at the bottom of the product page.) Every couple of weeks we will be sending an email that will feature new items, update you about one of the artisans that makes items for us and highlight events happening in our stores. time to catch up…

Hello lovely fans!

We cannot believe it is already 10 days into October! Where has the time gone?! Since we last spoke we have had a photo shoot, hired 2 new team members, and made great headway on our website. We had rock star models that braved the heat while wearing winter sweaters and scarves paired with our fall fashions. Our shoot took place in our local arts theater located in downtown Brunswick, GA in the third floor area that was once apartments. With the perfect amount of paint chipping off the walls with grand windows it was perfect for our fall shoot…except for the fact that it wasn’t air conditioned. The shoot was in mid-September in South Georgia so yes, it was very hot. The models thought cool thoughts apparently and we think it turned out perfectly.  Below is a video documenting our shoot…we would love to hear what you think!

stories from Indonesia

Good morning friends. Hope all of you are having a great week so far. Curt, our fearless leader and our home accessories/furnishings buyer just returned from Indonesia. Each time he returns from these trips he brings amazing products and artisan stories that keep us inspired to press on with our goal. Our desire is to foster relationships with our artisans (or friends as we think of them) and help them support their families and communities. Many times it is an entire extended family that creates the different items for us. They all pool their resources and talents to create the unique items that you see in the stores.

On this most recent trip, Curt went to visit some of the families that make a lot of our jewelry. They live on a small island called Madura. Curt spent time with the children while visiting with the people who make things for us. You can see they were enjoying popsicles. I think Curt was trying to pass on his love of snack time!

Looking at this picture it helps me to remember that what we do matters. The items that are in our stores are products with love attached. Each one is handcrafted by people with such great, happy hearts who simply want the chance to have a better life.

all about Fall

Hello friends! It has been busy times around our home office. Our fall clothing line arrived, we are working fast and furious on the new website, and we are in the midst of visiting our stores. Whew, I know it sounds tiring but it is very exciting! Below is a photo of our warehouse after the arrival of our amazing fall groups. I personally (this is Ashley talking again) can’t wait for the cobalt blue pants, gorgeous tunics in a hot coral hue, and fun easy wear dresses that will look perfect paired with a great pair of slouch boots and tights! Something else I can hardly wait for…our sweaters! They are on a whole other level for fall and are a certain sell out so pick yours up fast. Oh, and I should mention how excited I am about scarves and layered dressing?! (And yes, I know that it is hovering around 100 degrees where I live. A girl can dream right?)

One of the major trends right now is monochromatic dressing. We love the look of mixing different shades of a color in one outfit. It is a very chic look right now. One of the fall clothing groups called ‘Raisin in the Sun’ (in stores soon) will feature this trend.
